Winners of Best Exhibit at Taste of Dublin 2015

The Shebeen was announced as winner of the ‘Best Exhibit’ award for Taste of Dublin 2015 in the Iveagh Garden. Needless to say this was a massive honour for us as we bet off competition from numerous international companies such as Jameson Ireland, Nespresso, Havana Club, Teeling Whiskey, O’Briens Wines, Diageo and many many more.

It was a hugely successful four days where we met literally thousands of people and even had some famous faces call into The Shebeen. Check out our Gallery and see if you can spot the celebrities.

We will be announcing our winner of our competition we ran (a days FREE rental of The Shebeen, bet you are sad you missed Taste of Dublin now!) in the coming week. This will be announced on The Shebeen Facebook page, Twitter account and also here on our website! Best of luck to everyone who entered!

The Shebeen & The Boston Magazine

On Monday the 1st of June we were contacted by the Boston Magazine to do an editorial on our charming little Irish bar. With over 2.7 million of an audience each month we of course duly obliged and they have written this wonderful piece on us. Here is just a snippet of what was said:

“John Walsh, a cabinet-maker from Galway, is set to introduce the U.S. to The Shebeen, a mobile, 10-seat Irish pub that has become a phenomenon in his home country. The tiny, 17-foot-wide pub, built from a converted caravan, comes complete with wooden floors, faux-brick walls, Irish memorabilia, and a bar with two draft lines. Walsh says he first conceived of the project after purchasing a trailer to take to the Electric Picnic music festival in Laois, something he was unable to offload after the event.”

The Shebeen in Swords!

Over the weekend of May 23rd we brought our lovely little Irish bar all the way up to the capital. We were invited to a birthday party in Swords. The family wanted something different for this monumental birthday party and we duly obliged. It went down a treat and we hope to be back up to them in the near future.

Here are some of the photos of us setting up in their back garden… all hands on deck!
